Family Systems

Family Therapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a type of therapy that works with the various parts going on inside of us. These parts work like a family, both taking care of us-protecting us from outside forces and sometimes causing chaos.

These parts of us—our inner critics, creatives, and protectors—get their chance to be known and deeply explored- giving us a chance to notice what’s going well, and what is not (seriously- just like a family!) We also tap into our core “Self,” the wise, connected, compassionate leader that helps mediate the show, getting us all on same page. It’s not about silencing the voices, but understanding them so you can move from internal drama to inner harmony. Gay men’s counselling is a specialty, and it’s our specialty.
